The friendliest version of this story is that Golden State hung around without Stephen Curry. Fine. A rival is not starting there.
A rival starts with a colder question: without Curry's usual bailout effect, what part of this offense still forces respect on its own?
Denver gave the useful answer. Not the total answer. The useful one. And it was not especially flattering.
What Denver Actually Put Under The Lamp
The point is not that Golden State played Denver in a meaningful late-March test. The point is what Denver chose to live with.
That is the scout lens. Opponents tell you what they believe by what they are willing to examine up close.
Without Curry, Golden State's offense becomes easier to treat as a chain of possessions that still need a final source of stress. That does not mean the Warriors become harmless. It means the burden of proof changes. The reputation walks out with Curry. The remaining offense has to earn its own gravity.
That is where the outside view gets less sentimental than the home version. Warriors fans can praise the effort, the connectivity, the system habits. A serious opponent is asking a meaner question: where is the part that distorts our priorities right now?

If Denver still felt comfortable pressing on the version of Golden State that shows up without Curry, that is the real note from this game. Not that everything is broken. Not that the Warriors are secretly fraudulent. Just that the no-Curry version still presents an invitation before it presents a dilemma.
Moses Moody being part of that game context matters because this is where role-player performance gets judged more honestly. Not by whether a player can fill empty possessions with competence, but by whether the collective offense still creates something an opponent has to overreact to. That is a higher bar. It should be.

Do not overstate this into a full diagnosis of Golden State. Denver did not settle every argument about the Warriors. One game should not get that power.
But it did sharpen one clean point. Without Curry, Golden State still looks more testable than terrifying.
That is what a smart opponent would circle first. Not because the Warriors have no ideas. Because the ideas still need a pressure source big enough to change the terms of the possession.
